The GRE Advantage
Why should you take a GRE course?
Most colleges and universities use the GRE as an indicator of graduate-level academic success and, while most schools don’t have “cut-off” scores, the GRE can be the deciding factor between otherwise equally qualified applicants.
There are many self-study tools available; why shouldn’t students just use those?
Think about learning to drive or learning a foreign language. Certainly, you can buy books to improve your skill and proficiency at either. But, you learn significantly more by working closely with a professional and experienced instructor who can teach you the necessary skills to succeed.
How the Olin Center can help
In our classes we simulate real tests, identify common types of incorrect answers designed to “trick” the less than careful test-taker, and practice essay writing in real time. It’s smart to have confidence in your abilities—yet taking standardized tests is something than can be improved upon with practice and the more realistic setting the better.
One of the most important benefits to taking a GRE course is the sense of camaraderie students gain throughout the class. We encourage students to feel a part of a learning community. Peer-learning experiences can help you stay focused as you learn strategies and face challenges as a team, fostering and guiding each other’s progress. Olin Center GRE Course
