I-20 Information
International students who want to
receive an I-20* from the Olin Center must study full-time. You may
study full-time in any one of the following programs:
- Intensive or Intensive Plus English program.
- Test preparation program (TOEFL, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, and SAT).
- Business internship program.
- Teacher Training (TEFL) Certificate program.
To receive an I-20 from the Olin Center for full-time study
you must submit:
- a complete application for full-time study
- a non-refundable, one-time application fee of $150
- tuition payment
- express mail fee of $55
- proof of finances, less than two months old (in English),
showing that you will have enough money to pay for both your living
and tuition expenses while at the Olin Center.
- copy of your passport
Acceptable documents include:
- a letter from your bank, in English, stating the amount of money in your
account (minimum required amount is $2500) or
- a bank statement from a family member or an employer. (If you
submit a bank statement from anyone other than yourself, you must
also submit a signed Affidavit of Support from the person or organization
that will sponsor you.)
If you are transferring from another school within the United
states, you must also bring the following to the Olin Center before
we can issue you an I-20:
- your passport and I-94 form (the I-94 form is usually stapled
into your passport)
- a copy of all pages of your I-20 from the previous school (applies
only to those already in F-1 visa status.)
Before you begin classes at the Olin Center, new and transferring
students must provide:
- proof of language proficiency (Students may take the Olin Center
language proficiency test.)
- proof of health insurance (all full-time students must have
health insurance while in the United States. If you do not have
health insurance, you may purchase it at the Olin Center for a
cost of $60/month.)
Application Deadline (I-20 applicants):
We recommend that you apply for an I-20 from overseas at least one
month before your program begins.
