2007 Course Options
The Olin Center offers two options
- Intensive English - meeting Monday - Friday from 9am to 12:30pm. This option consists of 20 lessons* per week.
- Intensive Plus - meeting Monday - Friday 9am to 3:00pm. This option consists of 30 lessons* per week.

General English Program*
Our General English program is designed for students wanting to improve their conversational English and still have time to see the sites of Boston and New England. This program is not eligible for an I-20 and classes run Monday-Friday until 12:30pm. Courses cover grammar, structure, and usage along with communication skills, American slang, and idioms.
General English Program Highlights:
- 20 lessons per week
- 45 minute lessons
- Classes begin every week
- Available for all Levels Beginner-Advanced
- Small Classes of average 8-10 students max 14
- Students focus on improving their conversational English
- Half day schedule gives students time to explore Boston!
*Please note: General English is not eligible for an I-20 or F1 student visa.

Semi-Intensive English Program*
Semi Intensive English Program allows students a flexible way to study Full –Time*. Students develop not only their conversational English but their written English as well during the twice a week afternoon sessions. Even though students have an intensive daily program the schedule still allows students the time to explore Boston and get the most out of their time in New England
Semi –Intensive English Program Highlights:
- 24 lessons per week
- 45 minute lessons
- Classes begin every week
- Available for all Levels Beginner-Advanced
- Small Classes of average 8-10 students max 14
- Full morning classes plus a twice a week reading and writing course
*Please note: Minimum registration for students wanting an I-20 form is 4 weeks.

Intensive English Program*

Students who want to make the most out of their time in Boston opt for this comprehensive full day program. Courses cover the basics of English speaking, listening, grammar, reading and writing.

- Available for all Levels Beginner-Advanced
- Small Classes of average 8-10 students max 14
- Full day of classes
- Development of English proficiency for university and career

Olin Center Program Levels
Students complete a placement test which determines the level at which they will begin their studies. On average, it takes most students four weeks to complete each of the Olin Center’s ten levels.
How can we guarantee your success?
1. At the Olin Center we test students every week to ensure that they are progressing steadily in their language studies.
2. Teachers meet every two weeks to discuss the students individually and to agree on level advancement.
3. Students are provided written progress reports every month
4. The Olin Center’s Academic Director is available daily to meet with students in order to discuss their academic progress.

Students can choose any number of weeks. Please note that to be eligible for an I-20 form students must register for a minimum of 4 weeks for either Semi-Intensive or Intensive English.
Complete Cultural Immersion
At the Olin Center, students are immersed in American language and culture through frequent social activities and our free weekly Pronunciation Clinic and Conversation Club.
