ESL Instructors
The Olin Center, a private language school on Boylston Street,
Boston, seeks full-time, part-time, as well as short-term ESL teachers
for our nine-level program. Some weekend/pm hours occasionally required
of full-timers.
We are looking for teachers whose resumes and cover letters demonstrate
commitment to the field; we also look for teachers who convey a sense
energy and excitement, thoroughness and fun.
Qualifications: Must be US citizen or permanent resident
of the United States. BA or BS required. MA in TESOL or related field
is highly desirable. In lieu of MA, at least six months of ESL teaching
experience (preferably in the U.S.) is required. In-person interview
is required.
Test Preparation Instructors
Are you an outstanding standardized test taker and communicator?
If so, you might be interested in an excellent part- or full-time job teaching at the Olin Center on Newbury Street in Boston's Back Bay.
We are looking to hire test preparation instructors to teach classes in TOEFL, GMAT, GRE, and LSAT. We offer outstanding programs at a reasonable cost and have helped hundreds of students achieve exceptional score improvements.
Classes meet in late afternoons and or evenings two or three times a week for a total of anywhere from 6 to 15 hours per week. (Exception is TOEFL which meets from 9am-noon Monday through Friday)
Qualifications: Successful applicants must have at
least a B.A. or B.S., scores in the top 10% of at least one standardized test. TOEFL teachers must have some formal linguistics or related training. Applicants are required to interview in person.
TEFL Trainer
Do you have a MATESOL plus experience in teaching English to non-native speakers? Do you have excellent communication skills? Are you willing to share your knowledge of ESL to others? Have you ever thought about becoming a teacher trainer of English as a Second Language?
The Olin Center is seeking knowledgeable, energetic, and creative teacher trainers for its TEFL Certificate Course. Successful candidates will have confidence, a positive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to motivate the TEFL trainees and ESL students and be equally sensitive to their needs. We would like you to contribute to the growing number of ESL teachers who are needed worldwide.
The Olin center offers teacher training through its subsidiary, Action in English. Accredited by the American Council of Continuing Education (ACCET), we offer full- and part-time courses designed to enable those without formal ESL teaching experience or training to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in as few as four weeks.
Qualifications: MA in TESOL or degree in related field with experience in teaching ESL/EFL in the United States and/or abroad. Cross-cultural experience preferred.
