JUNIOR PROGRAM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

When does the Junior Program being?

For individuals the program lasts from June 29-August 29 (Homestay option) or June 29-July 27 (Dormitory option)

Groups may arrange their stay from June 8-September 15 (Homestay option) or June 29-August 9 (Dormitory option).

How old must I be to participate in the Junior Program?
All Junior Program participants must be 14 or older. Participants under the age of 14 are eligible for admission into our Kids and Family program

Please note: 14 year olds must choose the homestay housing option

How long is the Junior Program?
The minimum length for a program is 2 weeks. Most students choose to stay 3 or 4 weeks.

What time are my daily ESL classes?
Daily ESL classes run 9:00 -12:30, Monday through Friday.

What subjects will I learn in class?
The Olin Center’s General English Course includes Grammar lessons, American Idioms classes, and a Conversation class.

What time will activities end?
Most activities end by 4:00pm. Some evening activities will end later in the evening. All activities are supervised and students will need to observe the curfews set by the chaperones.

Will lunch be included in the activities?
Lunch is included in the program.

Will there be program chaperones to guide the activities and keep me safe?
All Olin Center activities are led by at least one chaperone and in many cases two chaperones. Chaperones are fully equipped with directions, tickets, first aid kits and emergency contact information. All chaperones go through several stages of interviewing and reference checks before being considered for Olin Center employment. Hired activity guides go through a thorough program training prior to leading any school activity.

What other services does the Olin Center provide?
The Olin Center provides Internet access through their computer labs and free secured wireless Internet network. Weekly Conversation and Pronunciation classes are optional activities available to each Junior Program student as well. College counseling and a library of ESL resources are also available for our students.

Program fees include:

Application fee, course tuition, books & materials, either homestay or dormitory accommodation, full board, scheduled social and cultural activities, transportation to and from activities, and use of all school facilities and equipment.

Program fees do not cover airfare, books, health insurance, and personal spending money.
