Test Preparation for International Students
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
International students who want to study full-time in the Olin Center
on an I-20 can do so if they meet the following language proficiency
requirements.
For the TOEFL program:
- A TOEFL score of 475/153
- An official EPT score of 70 (test given at the Olin Center), or the completion of one month of the Advanced English program (level 800)
For the full-time GMAT, GRE, LSAT, or SAT:
- A TOEFL score of 550/213
- An official MTELP score of 71 (test given at the Olin Center), or the completion of our Academic Skills/Business English program
If you do not have proof of language proficiency, the Olin Center
can issue you an I-20 for our Intensive English program. When you
arrive, we will give you a placement test. If you qualify, you may
enter the test preparation course for which you applied. If you do
not qualify, we will place you in the appropriate level of Intensive
English.
Our full-time test preparation courses are made up of three
components:
- Regular class time, meeting twice a week.
- Workshop class time , meeting twice a week. The purpose of the workshop style meeting
is to help international students with the verbal sections of
the test and with the verbal components of the mathematical and
analytical sections.
- Additional Academic Preparation class subject meeting
during the day.
- Additional computer lab study time for practicing the test.
